Minimum Widths by Type
Standard corridors: 1100mm. Healthcare patient corridors: 2400mm. Educational: 1800mm. Dead-end corridors limited to 6m in sprinklered buildings.
Clear Width
Projections (handrails, trim) up to 100mm permitted. Door swing cannot reduce corridor below 50% of required width.
Special Requirements
Accessible routes require 1500mm for wheelchair passing. Smoke-proof corridors needed for high-rise buildings.
